I hope to learn more about effective district-level leadership and how superintendents make decisions that impact student achievement, staff development, and community relationships. I also want to strengthen my leadership skills through real-world experiences and gain practical strategies that will help me grow as an educational leader.

Strategic Plan
Obtain and analyze the district's Strategic Plan.
Board of Education Meetings
Attend at least three board meetings from different districts and keep copies.
Superintendent Interview
Discuss and work with the superintendent on budget, negotiations, hiring and firing, student sub-groups, community outreach, classroom visits, and tenure review.
Superintendent Professional Growth
Investigate the superintendent's PGP, evaluation, and career experience in education.
Central Office Personnel
Define and investigate central office responsibilities through interviews, job descriptions, and the organizational chart.
A Day with the Superintendent
Spend at least one full day with the superintendent and record a timeline of the day.
